Valle Nevado History
In 1988 Valle Nevado began life as a joint French – Chilean project, with the famed French ski centre of Les Arc participating as a partner.   Ten years later, in 1998 the Chileans assume total ownership. In 2001 the first detachable ski lift in Chile is installed. In 2008, twenty years after it began, Valle Nevado begins construction of the Valle Condores condominium and two new carpet lifts are installed (El Prado and El Mirador) and the children’s Snow Garden receives a “magic carpet” ski lift. In 2009, two of the ski centres restaurants: La Trattoria and Montagnard are combined to create the restaurant “Mirador del Plomo” and construction starts on the second Valle de Condores condominium building. The hotel Puerta del Sol and Tres Puntas are completely remodelled. 2010 two more ski lifts are added: The Ballicas double chair lift and the surface lift at the Valle del Inca summit, creating five new ski runs. The restaurant La Fouchette and the Hotel Valle Nevado are renovated as well as a new car park with capacity for 350 cars for day skiers, is completed.
